Miles of Smiles was supposed to be back March 25th for restorative care (x-rays, fillings, extractions, etc.). Due to the circumstances, we had to reschedule. They will now be back April 22. We have 2 confirmed cases of chickenpox, one in 4th grade and one in Pre-K. Please do not panic!
Frequently Asked Questions:
If my child has been vaccinated can they still get chickenpox? Yes, but less likely and usually a more mild case.
What are the signs and symptoms? Itchy rash of blisters, fever, headache, feeling tired.
Can chickenpox be serious? Not usually, but can be for babies, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.
How does chickenpox spread? The virus is spread by the infected person breathing, coughing, sneezing or touching another individual who is susceptible to the infection.
What should I do if I suspect my child has chickenpox? KEEP THEM HOME and call your pediatrician.

With permission from the parent, I want to let everyone know that we have a suspected case of chicken pox in the 4th grade. Please take care to monitor your child. If you suspect that your child could have chickenpox, keep them home and notify your pediatrician. I have attached a newsletter with additional information.
